LIVE: Man (30s) hospitalised following terrifying home invasion by three armed men

Investigations are ongoing

Gardaí have arrested a man following an aggravated burglary at a home in Cork city. 
Taking place in the Lagan Grove area of Mayfield, the incident occurred on Monday, August 11 at approximately 12:40am.

Three men entered the house, armed with implements and confronted the occupants before fleeing.

Gardaí on patrol in the area responded to the incident and a male, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene. 

He is detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Cork area.

One of the occupants, a man, also aged in his 30s, was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by Gardaí and they are appealing for anyone with any information regarding this incident to come forward.
 
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the Lagan Grove area of Mayfield, Cork City between midnight on Sunday, August 10 and 1am on Monday, August 11 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
