Newbridge woman named as Kildare Rose

Newbridge woman Meabhdh O'Sullivan was named as the 2016 Rose of Kildare at the Kildare Rose final in the Westgrove Hotel in Clane last night.

The Newbridge native was sponsored by A1 Supreme Clean in Milltown in her bid to be crowned the Rose of Kildare, and she was presented with the sash at the finale of last night's event by last year's winner, Ailish Brennan.

RTÉ presenter Brian Ormond was on hand to host proceedings on front of a crowd that numbered around 350, and the 24 ladies provided great entertainment to all those in attendance.

Businesses around the county pitched in with prizes for the charity raffle that was held last night, and members from the Jack and Jill Foundation charity were in attendance, as they are the official partners of the 2015 Kildare Rose competition.
