A number of changes are being planned to the Cuan Mhuire addiction treatment facility outside Athy town.

Cuan Mhuire,  founded by Sisters of Mercy nun Consilio Fitzgerald in 1966, is Ireland's largest voluntary provider of Addiction Treatment Services and Residential Rehabilitation.

Proposed internal alterations are planned to the existing drug and alcohol addiction treatment detox unit, based at Milltown, Athy.

The alterations will reconfigure the existing layout and number of bedrooms.

On completion, these areas will be used solely as a drug addiction / detox / treatment unit.

No alterations are proposed to the exterior of the building.
