The Kildare minor hurlers have reached the quarter-final stage with a brilliant win over Westmeath. Joint top-scorer Tom Boran was exceptional on the day five superb points from play. 

Kildare led right the way through the second half as they did their best to keep their opponents at arm's length. Cian McGrath got the vital goal for Kildare. After he was fed through by Tom Power, McGrath raised the green flag in exceptional style, smashing the ball into the roof of the net
