Kildare GAA Convention: Lorraine Wolfe to be new County Secretary

Lorraine Wolfe set to be come the new Kildare GAA County Secretary

Lorraine Wolfe, presently Kildare GAA Communications Officer, is set to be appointed the county board's new Hon Secretary after the only remaining candidate Noel McKenna (Ballyteague) announced his withdrawal; following on in the footsteps of Elaine Connolly, St Laurence's, who withdrew her nomination last week.

It leaves the popular Naas Club member, who has been Communications Officer for the last four years, unopposed for the post. of Hon, Secretary and she will be ratified at the upcoming convention on 8 December, to be held at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge.

That also means there will be just one vote on the night, that for the position of Communications Officer; two candidates remain in contention, Rory McGrath, Kildangan and Sara Holden, Sarsfields.

Nominations: Chairman: Mick Mullen (Celbridge);  Vice Chairman, Larry Curtin (Rathangan); Hon Seretary, Lorraine Wolfe, (Naas); Treasurer, Alan Dunney (Caragh); Communications Officer: Rory McGrath (Kildangen), Sara Holden (Sarsfields); Coaching Officer: Eamonn Costello (Kilcock); Irish Officer Paul O’Delahunty (Milltown); Leinster Council delegates (2) Ger Donnelly (Castlemitchell), Dave Cahill (Clane); Central Council Delegate, Colm Farrell (Johnstownbridge); Leinster Convention: Noel McKenna (Ballyteague), Ger Donnelly (Castlemitchell); Congress Noel McKenna (Ballyteague); Ger Donnelly (Castlemitchell), Dave Cahill (Clane).
