A fallen ESB pole has blocked part of the road between Naas and Rathangan inside the last hour. The treacherous conditions outdoors have led to a number of accidents and fallen trees all over the country, and this latest one has occurred near Victoria Bridge in Thomastown.

Part of the road is blocked, though traffic can still squeeze by. Motorists are advised to exercise extreme care in the area.

There were other incidents around the county earlier in the morning, with a fallen tree partially blocking the Caragh/Prosperous road at Cock Bridge. There were also reports of debris on the Athgarvan/Two Mile House road earlier today.

Surface water on all routes is becoming an increasing problem due to the heavy downpours of rain over the last number of hours, and drivers are being warned to exercise care and lengthen breaking distances.
