SFC winners Sarsfields head into Leinster while Milltown and St Kevin’s also tackle provincial quarter-finals after their respective wins

Kildare club football is done and dusted with the crowning of Sarsfields as Joe Mallon Motors SFC title-winners but there is still Leinster Championship action to come with all three Kildare club football champions in action on Saturday, November 14.

The Sash are the only side with a throw-in and venue confirmed alongside their fixture at the time of writing. They face Dublin champions Cuala at 4:45pm in Parnell Park for what should be a stiff test for the Newbridge men.

Sarsfields players and management have already spoken about their modest record in provincial action but a win away from home against the men from Dalkey would represent an enormous victory for club and county.

This fixture will not be Cuala’s first Leinster endeavour after a tight battle with Tullamore, which took place simultaneous to Sarsfields beating Maynooth in the Kildare decider.

Cuala trailed by one at the break before a string of five unanswered points after half-time saw them get back on track. The Offaly champions weren’t done yet however and it took a Con O’Callaghan two-pointer to prevent extra-time and get the Dublin side over the line late on.

Kildare Intermediate champions Milltown do not yet know their opponents for November 14, but it will be either Kilkenny SFC winners Mullinavat or Meath champions Duleek-Bellewstown on home soil. Their game was rescheduled for Sunday, November 8, due to a bereavement in the Meath club the week prior.

The South Kilkenny club won an eighth senior football title in 10 years when defeating Tullogher Rosbercon in the county final back in May with the 1-15 to 0-11 success assuring them of Leinster qualification.

The Meath IFC winners put in an emphatic county final performance to reach this stage, beating Navan O'Mahonys on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-10 at Devenish Park to lift the Mattie McDonnell Cup.

Milltown followed their pair of titanic county final battles with Suncroft with a complete blow out of Longford champions Mostrim in their first Leinster outing. Just one point separated Milltown and Suncroft after 120 minutes of IFC final football but, a week later, John Donnelly’s side finished their provincial opener 2-18 to 0-1 to the good.

St Kevin’s booked their Leinster quarter-final place by doubling the score of Kilkenny champions Muckalee (4-20 to 2-10) in Manguard Park, Hawkfield. They will face Offaly Intermediate champions St Brigid’s Croghan on November 14 at a yet to be confirmed Offaly venue.

St Brigid’s managed five goals in their county final success over Edenderry with Ben Kennedy picking up a hat-trick. The win gave Brigid's their first Intermediate title since 2012, earning them promotion to the Senior ‘B’ grade for 2027.
