Brand-new pharmacy and medical unit proposed for this Kildare village
The development has been proposed by a company based in County Louth
The construction of a brand-new pharmacy, in addition to a medical unit, has been proposed for one County Kildare village.
Oceantech Solutions Limited is seeking planning permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) to construct the development at Unit B of Millers Square in Athgarvan.
According to the description contained within the application, the applicant intends to for the sub-divide the existing 173.8 square metre commercial unit in order to create two separate commercial units, which would comprise of a pharmacy (91.5 sqm) and a medical unit (82.3 sqm).
The proposed pharmacy will include a 31.8 sqm retail / shop area, a 5.7 sqm pharmacy consultation room, a 15.3 sqm dispensary area, a 3.2 sqm bathroom and a 4.4 sqm staff lounge.
As for the proposed medical unit, there are plans for it to include a 16.2 sqm waiting / reception area, two offices (12.2 sqm and 10.1 sqm respectively), a 3.2 sqm bathroom, and a 4.4 sqm staff lounge.
Oceantech Solutions Ltd is also seeking permission from KCC for alterations to the existing front elevation / entrance, including the partial removal of the existing window and the installation of a new sliding entrance door to provide access to the proposed pharmacy unit, and ‘all associated site development works’.
The date received is listed as September 8 last, while the submission-by and due dates listed as October 12, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
The business information website SoloCheck.ie shows that Oceantech Solutions Ltd was established back in August of 2024.
It specialises in ‘engineering activities and related technical consultancy’.
