She also alleged he added her to a WhatsApp ‘ to publicly humiliate me’

A woman told Naas District Court that her former husband threatened to reduce maintenance payments he makes.

The woman came to court seeking protection under family law legislation and the man was neither present nor represented.

She also alleged she had received messages from him and he made the threat to reduce maintenance if she did not sign a tax form “which I’m not comfortable doing.”

She also claimed he added her to a WhatsApp group without her consent “to publicly humiliate me.”

The woman further claimed that he was blocking calls to her child.

The woman claimed that about six years ago she was assaulted by him while she was pregnant and also said there was a confrontation at a handover arrangement with the children.

“I’m worried about it escalating,” she said, adding “I don’t speak to him.”

Judge Valerie Corcoran granted a protection order and adjourned the case to December 14.
