Retail Business of the Year awards were held at the Johnstown Estate in County Meath

Nolan Butchers of Kilcullen have secured national recognition after winning the Retail Business of the Year award at the Irish Family Business Awards, held at the Johnstown Estate in County Meath.

James Nolan accepted the prestigious award from broadcaster Matt Cooper, acknowledging event sponsor Goodbody Stockbrokers and paying tribute to the loyal and hardworking team whose contribution has helped make the family business a success.

James also expressed his gratitude to customers for their continued loyalty and support, recognising the important role they have played in sustaining the business over generations.

With more than 600 businesses entered in this year's competition, the award represents a significant achievement for the Kilcullen-based butcher, particularly given the strength of competition across the retail sector.

The recognition also marks an important milestone in the history of a family business established in 1886. James said the three generations of the Nolan family who ran the business before him would have been immensely proud of the national accolade, paying particular tribute to his late father, Andy.

The award adds to an impressive list of achievements for Nolan Butchers. In 2015, the business was named Best Butchers Shop in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland at an awards ceremony held at the House of Lords in London.

The latest success further underlines the enduring reputation of Nolan Butchers and its contribution to the Kilcullen business community, with family tradition, quality service and customer loyalty remaining at the heart of its operation.
