Additional recovery-themed events will follow the launch

An event in County Kildare will mark the launch of Recovery Month 2026.

Hosted by the Substance Use Regional Forum (SURF), the organisation previously made headlines back in June when it announced an event to coincide with International Overdose Awareness Day 2026, which will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026.

And now, SURF is preparing to host the launch of Recovery Month 2026 at The Dara Project in Athy, which is an alcohol misuse treatment facility.

The launch will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

It will begin at 11am.

Anyone seeking further information about SURF can visit surfonline.ie.
