Former well known Rathcoole pub, the Blackchurch Inn, recently sold for €3,650,000 at auction

The Blackchurch Inn, which is set on 10 acres, recently sold for a record price of €3,650,000 at auction.

Coonan Property said it was delighted to have sold this high profile commercial holding along the Naas road corridor near Rathcoole. The property has a unique combination of substantial built accommodation, extensive external storage areas, and significant landholding making it a rare offering in a highly accessible and sought-after location.

The auction of this renowned property took place on Thursday, July 16 before a packed auction room in Lawlor’s Hotel in Naas. The auction opened with a bid of €1,400,000 and proceeded without delay in tranches of €100,000 up to €2,850,000. Philip Byrne of Coonan Property briefly adjourned the auction to get vendors instructions and returned without delay placing the property on the market.

A new bidder entered the bidding and competed in bids of €50,000 up to the final selling price of €3,650,000. The purchaser was a local businessman.

According to Philip Byrne, “The property sold for over €335,000 per acre which represents a record price for un-zoned land. This auction demonstrates the level of demand for prime properties along the main Naas road corridor”.
