Tributes paid to a Kildare man remembered as 'a gentle soul'

Heartfelt tributes have been paid following the passing this week of 'gentle soul', Jim Corrigan, of Kilcullen, Co Kildare.

Jim, Abbeyawn, Old Kilcullen, Kilcullen, Co Kildare was late of Hollywood, Co Wicklow.

He passed peacefully on October 6 last at Naas General Hospital.

Jim is very deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, sons John, Garrett and James, daughters Anne Marie, Mary and Helen, brothers Pat and Peter and sister Sheila.

Jim is predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary, brothers Frank, Andy, Sean, and sister Eileen. He is also sadly missed by his sons-in-law Cathal and Danny, daughters-in-law Claire and Marie, as well as his adored 16 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tributes paid to Jim this week on RIP.ie include: “Sincere sympathy to Anne and all your family on the passing of Jim, a gentle soul, may he rest in peace.”

And: “My deepest sympathies to Anne and all Jim’s much loved family on his sad passing. He was a true gentleman. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. May Jim rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “Our deepest sympathies to the Corrigan family on Jim's passing. May he rest in peace.”

And another added: “Sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to Anne, John, Garrett, James, Annmarie, Mary , Helen, grandchildren and all the extended Corrigan family on Jim's passing. May he rest in peace.”

Reposing at his residence (Eir code R56 V229) on Wednesday October 8 from 12 noon with prayers at 7.30pm.

The removal will take place from there on Thursday morning October 9 to the Church of the Sacred Heart and St Brigid's, Kilcullen arriving for 11am funeral Mass which may be viewed on https://mcn.live/Camera/church-of-the-sacred-heart-and-st-brigid-kilcullen

House Private on Thursday morning please, followed by burial in Hollywood cemetery.
