Kildare-based university invites general public to attend its ‘Five Women, Five Moments’ exhibition

Maynooth University.

Maynooth University has invited the general public to attened its 'Five Women, Five Moments' online exhibition.

The university marking this years ‘Explore your Archive’ celebration with a Sway exhibition entitled 'Five Women, Five Moments: an exhibition celebrating women in the archives at Maynooth University Library.'

The public is invited to view the online exhibition, which will launch tomorrow (Saturday, November 25), and to also visit the documents in person at the university's library.

According to organisers, the exhibition highlights archival material relating to five notable women drawn from the university’s collections in Special Collections and Archives, including Margaret Grubb, Caitlín Hutchinson, Teresa Deevy, Sister Majella McCarron, and Niamh Bhreathnach.

The organisers added: "The women selected are vastly different, but each has contributed to the history and culture of this island.

"The exhibition focuses on a key moment in each of the women’s lives, its impact, and the fascinating documents that help tell their story."

"Members of the public who would like to get a closer look at some of the documents that feature in the virtual exhibition can view them in the John Paul II library until December 5, 2023," they concluded.
