Disqualified driver found four times over the legal drinking limit during Naas check-point

An Garda Síochána Kildare have seized 28 vehicles over the past week and have arrested 10 people for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The various vehicles were seized due to reasons such as no insurance, no tax, disqualified driver and unaccompanied learner drivers, according An Garda Siochana.

Gardaí have said that this is "despite traffic being significantly reduced owing to the recent cold snap."

"Enforcement will continue throughout the Division as the message is simply not getting through," Gardaí added.

One seizure in particular occurred on Sunday last, when the Naas roads policing unit conducted a check-point.

Gardaí in Naas had stopped a vehicle and had discovered the driver was disqualified from driving.
