Kildare court: Drunk motorist was spotted driving his car while all its doors were open

DRINK-DRIVING
A Kildare resident’s erratic manner of driving was detailed to Naas District Court by gardaí on Thursday, September 14 last.
Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that on February 8, 2020 at Grace's car park, Market Square in Kildare town, one Eamon Cleary, with an address listed as Kilnagornan, on the Green Road near Kildare town, was spotted driving his car 'with all the lights on and all of the doors open.'
It was later discovered that the 60-year-old has been driving while under the influence of alcohol, with Garda Sergeant Brian Jacob remarking that the blood test showed 'a high level' of alcohol present in Mr Cleary’s system at the time.
In addition, it was heard that he was unable to produce proof of insurance when asked to do so by gardaí.
Judge Zaidan imposed a three year driving disqualification on Mr Cleary, in addition to €1,400 fines.
He gave Mr Cleary three months to pay the fines.
