Kildare firm to help supply concrete to 500 apartments in Dublin

Kilsaran, which has a plant at Brownstown near Kilcullen, will be working with the Land Development Agency
Kilsaran’s precast concrete facilities in Co Kildare will play a key role in the delivery of a major residential development in Dublin, which is set to include Ireland’s tallest building.
The Irish-owned construction materials manufacturer has been appointed by John Paul Construction as the principal precast and ready-mixed concrete supplier for the Parkgate Street development, which will provide 562 apartments beside the River Liffey and opposite Heuston Station.
Kilsaran will manufacture, supply and install approximately 97,000 square metres of precast flooring and wall systems for the project, with production taking place at its facilities in Arthurstown and Brownstown near Kilcullen in Kildare, alongside its third facility in Oranmore, County Galway.
The contract comprises approximately 42,000 square metres of precast flooring, including hollowcore and Omnia plate systems, as well as 55,000 square metres of twin-wall and solid-wall precast concrete.
Founded in 1964, Kilsaran is Ireland’s largest independent manufacturer of concrete and asphalt products. Headquartered in Dunboyne, County Meath, the family-owned company employs more than 1,100 people across its operations in Ireland and the UK.
The Parkgate Street development is being delivered by the Land Development Agency (LDA) in partnership with Castlethorn, with John Paul Construction appointed as main contractor.
Its centrepiece, the 30-storey Parkgate Pointe, will rise to 102 metres, making it Ireland’s tallest building when completed.
Kilsaran Precast managing director Derek Duffy said the company was proud to be appointed principal precast supplier for one of Ireland’s most significant residential construction projects.
He said the scale, height and city-centre location required detailed planning and close coordination across manufacturing, logistics and installation.
Off-site manufacturing is expected to help streamline construction, maintain consistent quality and reduce the amount of work required on site.
Construction is due to commence in the coming weeks, with completion forecast for late 2029. Kilsaran expects manufacturing to begin in March 2027, continuing until June 2028.
Once completed, the 562 apartments will be owned by the LDA.
