George Higgins, famous for his pancakes in Supervalu, passed away in 2018
Naas Ball, A Kildare Facebook group, has dedicated a post to Kildare man George Higgins, who is remembered by all for making 'the best pancakes in Ireland'.
"Tomorrow my first pancake will be in honour of George on his 'George Higgins Day', Naas Ball said.
The post has since received many comments from local people who have special memories of the late George, with one person writing:
"I sure remember Georgie, nicest man I ever met".
Another person wrote, "The legend....they don't make em like him anymore."
"Fond memories of eating his pancakes, he was a nice man, may he rest in peace," another Kildare local wrote.

Another comment said, "Fun Irish character always happy for the banter and jokes," and "the best pancakes in Ireland were made by George."
