The parklet at Dublin Road, Naas
There are no plans to move the Naas parklet - and outdoor seating structure, which is located at Dublin Road.
Naas politician Cllr Anne Breen, a persistent critic of the existence of the structure, which was previously sited opposite Fletcher’s pub at North Main Street.

“It shouldn’t be there; nobody uses it and it’s taking up a loading bay,” Cllr Breen told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting.
She added: “This continues to be a white elephant, not being used by the public to any extent, getting more and more dilapidated, becoming an eyesore and taking up much needed parking space.”
KCC replied that there are no plans to move or remove “the parklet places.” on the Dublin Road
A KCC report noted that given the time of year, the usage of the space is expected to be lower than during the spring/summer and autumn periods.
It was also pointed out that a recent public consultation event held with youth groups in Naas indicate they want places in the town centre where “they can hang out and be themselves.”
The report said the parklet serves that purpose “while not impeding on parking spaces in the town, given that there are 532 spaces in Naas Town Centre with direct access to both the
Sallins Road and Dublin Road.”
The report, by KCC official Pamela Pender, also pointed out the parklet is maintained by the Naas Tidy Towns group “with spring bulbs planted.”
It is also maintained by KCC staff.
