It was announced last week that Ballina Stephenites club-man Liam Devenney has been handed the whistle for Kildare's Tailteann Cup final on July 12 in Croke Park.

Throw-in is scheduled for 2:30pm and the game will be broadcast on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player. The Tailteann Cup final in HQ precedes Kerry's All-Ireland SFC semi-final clash with Tyrone, which is slated for a 5pm start.

Kildare have another vested interested in refereeing appointments on the horizon too with many locals hoping that Sarsfields club-man Brendan Cawley can fulfill his ambition of refereeing an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final this year.
