In its response, the council confirmed it has secured a property in Newbridge, with the intended use of a youth facility.

According to the council, the development of the youth facility will be a collaborative effort, and the council is working with its community workers, Kildare Sports Partnership and local community groups/organisations who are best placed to manage the facility.

The local authority reports it is currently working with the council's Capital Team to identify and cost all necessary works required “to bring the youth building in Newbridge up to standard.”

To this end, the council has received input from youth service providers and community stakeholders regarding the optimal layout of the internal space.

The local authority further confirmed that an expression of interest will take place once the building is ready for use.
