An estimated €3,000 worth of tools were stolen from a van which was parked in North Kildare last weekend.
According to Garda Sean O'Mahony, who discussed the incident when he appeared on a KFM programme on Wednesday, October 29 last, the crime occurred in Clane between October 23 last and October 25 last.
He explained that the perpetrator(s) drilled a hole into the side of a van, which was parked in the Abbey Park region, and proceeded to steal the tools from the van.
Gda O'Mahony concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this crime to contact Clane Garda Station on 045 868 262.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of a break-in to a van parked at the side of a house in Clane, County Kildare, sometime between midnight on October 23 last and 9.15am on October 25 last.
"A number of tools were taken."
"Investigations [are] ongoing," the spokesperson added.
