Midlands Gardaí on hunt for man & woman after serious assault yesterday evening

Gardaí in the midlands are now on the hunt for a man and woman after a serious assault yesterday evening.
At around 6.20pm it is alleged a man who had advertised his car for sale arranged to meet with a prospective buyer at Main Street, Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, for the purpose of showing the car. The seller pulled up behind the buyer's car, a Red Toyota Auris, which had a female driver and which was parked across from the Church in Dunshaughlin.
As soon as he pulled up, he is reported to have been approached by a male, described as approximately 5’11 in height, of medium build with short black hair. It is alleged that this male immediately assaulted the seller of the car and then jumped into his car, a White Mercedes C220 with a 142 D reg, and sped off in the direction of Dublin.
The victim then ran over and stood in front of the red Toyota Auris to stop the woman leaving the scene. The female driver of this car then allegedly drove towards the victim forcing him onto the bonnet of the vehicle. This female drove off at speed and came to a complete sudden stop on a number of occasions in an attempt to force the victim off the bonnet.
It is believed that this woman had two children in the car at the time. One of these children is believed to be about seven years of age.
Earlier that evening between 4.30pm and 6.15pm number plates bearing 05-D were taken from a car parked at the The Old Forge housing estate, Dunshauglin a short distance away.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the graveyard in Dunshaughlin shortly after 6pm on Sunday evening 22 October 2017 or on the Dublin Road who may have seen the white Mercedes C220 or a red Toyota Auris car driving in the Dublin direction to contact Dunshauglin Garda Station on 01-8258600 or 01-8010600 or any Garda Station.
Similarly, if anyone was in The Old Forge, Dunshaughlin area between 4.30pm and 6.15pm and noticed a red Toyota car with a man and woman and who may have been accompanied by two small children in the rear seat should contact with Gardaí.
