Limerick influencer Chloe Koyce took to Instagram on Saturday night, March 22, 2025 to share a terrifying experience she had had after a night out in Dublin.
In an Instagram reel caption 'please listen.' Chloe prefaced the rest of the video by saying: "So, this video is going to be very different to what I usually upload, but probably the most important video I'll ever put out there."
She went on to explain that she had been out with two friends over the weekend in Dublin and stayed in a hotel because she was not familiar with the city.

While telling her story, Chloe emphasised to followers that as the friends were going their separate ways, they could not have been more careful in terms of making sure they each got back safely.
She said: "We're very thorough with our safety, myself and Lauren will make sure we are contacting each other when we're a taxi, contacting each other when we get home, whatever.
"I feel like myself and Lauren, like, we have that down to a T, that we are very, very safe and like, what I'm about to tell you, we couldn't have been more safe with this whole thing."
However, the influencer recounted how, at the end of the night, she said the name of her hotel out loud and described that as “her biggest mistake,” as she noticed a man had been standing very close to them.
Chloe explains that her friend had gotten into a taxi but had watch her walk to her hotel before driving away and that in the "milliseconds" between the taxi leaving and Chloe entering the hotel reception, the man in question had slipped in behind her.
She said: “We couldn’t have been more safe. We did exactly what we do every night. The more I think about it, the scarier it gets.”
Chloe goes on to say that there was no one on the desk at reception or security in sight and that she rushed to the lift and once she was in, began repeatedly pressing the button for it to close.
However, just like that man had squeezed through the door, he did the same as elevator doors were closing. Chloe said she began recording the man instead of calling her mother who was in their hotel room as she did not want to worry her mother.
The man can be seen in the footage holding his belt which he had taken off in the lift and Chloe said she had no idea if he would continue to remove more of his clothing or if he would use the belt to strangle her.
Throughout the video, Chloe expressed her fear that the man was going to kill her, as he followed her closely off the lift. She said he was right behind her shoulder the entire time.
After she knocked on the door of her room, her mother was staying with her, she turned to the man to ask him if he was ok.
She detailed how he followed her closely before turning the corner, presumably waiting for her to enter her room. Chloe explained that this was why she did not use her room key card as she feared he would try and push passed her to get into her room in the time it would have taken her to use it.
Following the incident, Chloe shared that when she reported it to reception, the person at the front desk admitted they had seen the man come in, but “presumed he was her boyfriend.”
The influencer reflected on the situation and shared her fears for other women and men, she said: “It’s really sad that we can’t mention where we are staying, we have to watch each other walk in, we have to wait and watch each other walk in.”
