Sarsfields v Celbridge the highlight as Kildare SFC round 2 draw throws up fascinating encounters

The draw for the second round of the Kildare Senior Football Championship and Intermediate Football Championship have been made this evening, and there are two particularly standout ties in the senior grade.
Defending champions Sarsfields have been drawn against Celbridge in the Winners' section, and the loser will have to face into a third round battle to make the quarter-finals of the championship. Naas, who ran out 3-24 to 0-2 winners over Eadestown in the first round, will take on Johnstownbridge who also had an impressive win over neighbours Carbury in their opening game.
The losers' section also threw up some fascinating encounters, most notably the meeting of St Laurence's and 2016 Intermediate champions Round Towers, while Carbury and Maynooth will also be a very interesting match up.
Clogherinkoe will play Nurney by the winners' section of the Kildare IFC, while Raheens will take on Kilcock.
No date has been set for those games as of yet.
