The grants are available to groups that entered the competition in 2024, 2025 or 2026. Funding can be used to prepare for the 2027 competition and support projects focused on sustainability and biodiversity.

Minister Calleary praised the dedication of more than 30,000 TidyTowns volunteers nationwide, highlighting their contribution to making communities better places to live, work and raise families.

He said investment in communities delivers long-term benefits, pointing to the 936 groups that entered this year’s competition.

The latest announcement brings total funding allocated to TidyTowns groups since 2017 to €14 million.

The competition is organised by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and sponsored by SuperValu, which has supported the initiative since 1991.
