As part of this year's Kildare Derby Festival, 4 legged canine friends gathered to strut their stuff on the green carpet in Kildare Town Square on Thursday, June 29.

Sponsored by Kildare's' family run pet store, Mutz Nutz Petcare, Tri Equestrian and Kildare Dog Training Academy, the Derby Festival 'Pooch Parade' dog show drew large crowds of all ages to Kildare Town.

With dog expert Martin Bailey judging the competition, all pups were put through their paces before the winners could be announced.

There were six categories and the winners of each were Ken Kelly and his dog Bella for the Downton Abbey Dog category, 19-year-old Coco won the Golden Oldies Category, the winner of the Rescued Rover was Lola from Carragh Rescue Care.

Chase came out on top of the Heinz 57's group and the Best Dressed Winner was Gus. Finally Penny won Best in Show and Kardashian Kanine.

Her owners Jessica and Louise Jennings were thrilled.
