3.4 acre Leixlip site of interest to developers sells for over €4M at auction

A 3.4 acre site in Leixlip has sold at auction for more than €4 million.
The site, which is located on the Maynooth Road in Leixlip, is said to be of huge interest to developers due to its ideal location close to the M4 motorway and within a few minutes of Dublin.
The subject lands are square in shape, apart from an elongated section in the north-western corner that has frontage onto Station Road (R148), and extend to 3.4 acres (1.38 ha). The lands are bounded by an existing residential development (Knockaulin), the grounds of Scoil Bhride and an afterschool centre. The surrounding area consists primarily of residential uses though there are school and church grounds nearby.
The site was sold at an auction in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth yesterday for €4.075 million.
It has been zoned Residential Infill on the Leixlip Area Plan.
No planning permission has been applied for as of yet.
