Army wives and partners holding Newbridge demo over pay

The Wives & Partners of the Defence Forces (WPDF) will hold a protest march in Newbridge today.

The march will begin at 2pm at St Conleth’s Church and will proceed to the Department of Defence HQ on Station Road.

During this march, a wreath will be laid at Newbridge Town Hall in memory of all the deceased and missing personnel of the Defence Forces.

The organisers say that the aim of this peaceful protest march is to continue to raise awareness in relation to the 'unacceptable' pay and conditions of loved ones who are enlisted members of the Defence Forces.
