Council blocks plan for drive-thru takeaway in Newbridge

Kildare Co Council has turned down a planning application for a sprawling retail development near Newbridge Train Station.

Developers had lodged plans for a a drive-thru takeaway, petrol station, retail shop, delicatessen with seating, forecourt area and car wash area for Station Road in Piercetown.

The plans also included two office units and car parking.

The Council has asked the applicants  to submit a revised proposal to correspond with the “Neighbourhood Centre” zoning.

However in recent days, the local authority turned down the entire application.
