LATEST: Kildare road to close for FIVE months
Kildare County Council has given notice that a road in the Crookstown area of South Kildare is to close for 15 days at a time between April 1 and August 31.
The R418 is to close between the junction with the R448 at Knockaulin and the R415 at Crookstown.
The closure is to facilitate the maintenance of the road.
The Council has given notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994.
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána.
Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
Alternative Routes: Via: 1. R448 – R415 – R418
2. R418 – R415 – R448
Southbound traffic travelling on the R418 turn left onto the R448, Knockaulin Crossroads. Proceed along the R448 to its junction with the R415 at Crookstown. Turn right onto the R415 and proceed to its junction with the R418, Fontstown Cross.
Traffic travelling north towards Kilcullen divert right at Fontstown Crossroads, onto the R415 and proceed to Crookstown. Turn left onto the R448 and proceed to its junction with the R418, Knockaulin Crossroads.
