Plans for 30 apartments in Kildare village blocked

An Bord Pleanála has refused planning permission for 30 apartments in Sallins. 
The proposed €6m development was earmarked for beside Oldbridge Park off the Sallins Road in Osberstown.
Two blocks of apartments were to provide a total of 30 homes. 
Some 37 car parking bays (with standalone electric car charging points) and 82 bicycle spaces were included in the plans. 
Being planned on a tract of disused and overgrown land was an area of public open space for the community.
 
The designs included the planting of a wild flower area and extensive landscaping, internal access footpaths.
 
Children’s play equipment within a freshly grassed area was also due to be installed.
